Aileen was hand picked to be part of our foundation herd. She has buttery soft fleece with silky, deep bold crimp as well as perfect conformation. In 2006 Aileen sheared a total of 6.8 pounds, 3.7 alone was her blanket! Aileen is without a doubt one of our sweetest alpacas with a calm and content disposition. She has passed along each of her quality traits to her first cria, Bronco. His delivery was smooth and uneventful and Aileen is a wonderful mother. Aileen has been bred to Alta’s Ultima and we eagerly await her spring 2007 cria.
What a spunky little girl she is! When there is a new noise or a new visitor, Bluebird is right with our Great Pyrenees to check it out. She has beautiful, dense black fleece and is not bleaching with the sun. Bluebird has great conformation; her legs are straight as an arrow. She will be bred in the spring of 2007. We can hardly wait for the arrival of her first cria.
Bronco is our first male cria and we are enjoying watching him progress. His dam Aileen sheared close to 7 pounds of fleece in 2006 and based on our observations of Bronco, we believe he will be a better performer. In addition to density, Bronco has inherited his dam's silky soft fleece with just the right amount of crimp. Keep an eye on Bronco.
Danika-Demi (Dani) has amazingly fine fleece with great length and crimp. She has outstanding coverage from head to toe and we are expecting an abundance of fleece when she is shorn. Dani has a great personality and is the first to bond with the newborns in the herd…which leads us to believe she will be a wonderful mother. We look forward to breeding her in the spring of 2007.
We call her Nettie (after my favorite grandmother) and celebrate her as our first born on the farm. She has inherited her dam’s presence and perfect conformation as well as amazing fleece coverage from head to toe. She’s definitely a leader and not at all bashful. At 2 months, she was pushing her way past the adults to get her share of hay and pellets. She is healthy, strong and confident!
Shannon was hand picked to be one of our foundation animals. We decided to go with quality, not quantity. She has amazing fleece with unbelievable density. In 2004, she brought home the Blue Ribbon from the AOBA Summer National Fleece Show. In 2006, she sheared a total of 8.5 pounds, 4.4 pounds in her blanket alone! Princess Antoinette (Nettie) was Shannon’s first cria. Nettie has inherited her dam’s density with added fineness and length from her sire. Shannon’s delivery was picture perfect and she has been a doting mother with plenty of milk. We were so pleased with Shannon’s first cria; we rebred her to Alabaster for a fall 2007 cria.
Though unproven this guy has great genetics behind him. His fleece is gorgeous and skin sample results are pending. Vinni’s fleece is dense, crimpy and bundling. We can’t wait to see his cria. Vinni is discounted now, but don’t delay…once his cria hit the ground his value will increase. Vinni is co-owned with Dougherty Creek and Kinney Valley Farms.
